My first stop was at the Toyota Denver Regional Office in Englewood, CO. The staff at this office will be participating in their EIGHTH National Public Lands Day event this year. To celebrate this feat, $2,000 was granted to Friends of Castlewood Canyon State Park. $1,000 was from The National Public Lands Day Program while another $1,000 was matched by Toyota Denver Regional Office.
Below is a $1,000 presentation to Castlewood Canyon State Park. Lyle Laverty, Director of Colorado State Parks as well as staff from Castlewood were on hand to accept the grant.
The Toyota Denver Regional offices also granted Castlewood Canyon State Park another $1,000.
I had the pleasure of meeting Lynda Lou Greeley (in Highlander) and Bruce Papich. These two have spearheaded Toyota volunteer worksites in the Denver area for eight years. WOW!

My next stop that day was in the heart of the Rocky Mountains at Arapahoe National Forest headquarters in Granby, Colorado. This visit was special because this particular group have been organizing National Public Lands Day worksites for 12 years, making them the longest running National Public Lands Day event. In addition to the longevity of this site, they also work as an interagency team with BLM, NPS, and many local agencies.
A lot of happy people live in Granby, Colorado. Members from USFS, NPS, and BLM on hand to accept the $1,000 grant.
